Hi, I'm lurking. What did you all eat on the big day prior to going to the church. We're at 1pm, and church only 5 mins down road. Conscious that I won't have food (canapes) until around 3.30.

Help!

I find it hard to eat on the morning of any wedding I do as I still get nervous (and I'm just the photographer) but I always make sure I eat something and normally end up telling the bride she needs to eat even if you don't feel hungry just have a slice of toast at least so you have something in your system. Also make sure you drink lot's of water in the morning as throughout the day your mostly get given booze so it's good to be hydrated with something in your belly so you don't get drunk to quickly!

I hope this help's

Sophie

PS

I always carry a breakfast bar in my bag as well incase the bride feels light headed at anytime so it might be worth popping one in your BM bag.

I'm planning to have a nice long leisurely breakfast in my hotel room. I love my food and won't be missing out on that!

I'm staying at a hotel with my sister the night before the wedding, so we'll be jumping out of bed and having a nice full english brekkie to get us set for the day! (well that's the plan anyway! Nerves might just get the better of me!)

I don't think I'll be able to eat a thing - I usually end up being sick on the morning of any kind of big occasion as it is! I hope I don't end up fainting or something during the ceremony! I might take some cereal bars along and eat them in between pictures or something, as hopefully by then I won't be so nervous.

My bridesmaid will probably try to force something down my throat - she's already trying to think of plans to get me to eat on the day, whether I want to or not!

I love my food and am always eating but couldn't eat on the morning of the wedding.

I ate one small blueberry muffin but that was at a push. I didn't have any canapes at the drinks reception either as was too busy talking to people so didn't eat anything until the wedding breakfast at 4.30pm. I didn't eat much of that either as was too full up (having not eaten all day) and my dress wasn't going to allow me to anyway!

My wedding was 2pm.

When i got up i tried to eat but only managed quater of a slice of toast. At a bout 12:30 i decided i was really hungry, but my hair was being done in a hurry so i couldn't go get anything, bm didn't know where anything was as she'd never been to mums before and mum was doing my hair. Luckily dad arrived at about 1 so he made me a ham sandwich (one of the best i've had, lol) which i ate as mum finished my hair. That kept me going until 4:30 when the wedding breakfast was served.

I had toast and coffee in bed made by (then h2b) - but just before i left the house to go to the hotel to get ready i had a quick fried egg sandwich. I had beenout the previous eve and had a bit of a bad head........

that was it then - apart from champagne - until the wedding breakfast at about 3.30pm - so i am glad i had the second brekkie before leaving the house - or i would have been drunker than i was!!!

Well, the night before the wedding we went out for a meal and had pizza. We had what we couldn't eat wrapped up to take away.....& I ate it in the morning!!! Cold pizza, yum!!

That was at about 9am & lunch wasn't until 2pm & I was starving by the time we ate! Not even nerves put me off my food!

I had a cooked breakfast first thing which I couldn't eat much of as that's when I was really nervous, then had a plate full of sandwiches at about 12.00 when I was feeling better, our ceremony was at 2pm so worked out fine for me, I'm also diabetic so my BM was practically forcing me to eat as she had visions of me passing out during the ceremony!!

my sister made us all a lovely breakfast of croissants and pain au chocolat with champagne and bucks fizz
i had that at about 7am (wedding at 1:30) then we had sandwiches delivered at about 11am - i had a quarter of one!! My next food was the wedding breakfast at 4.45ish - I didn't feel too hungry though during the day, I don't think I'd have noticed if I was!

I had planned to eat alot as our wedding breakfast wasn't til half three and the wedding was at half twelve. As it turned out I was too nervous to eat much ... two bananas and a bite of jam on toast I think. It all just made me feel sick!

Food and when to eat played a big part on deciding where and when we were going to get married. I get very grumpy if I'm hungry so we went for a venue where we could only get married at 5pm. It was bliss being able to get up and have some boiled eggs for breakfast and also have a proper lunch. I had some roast duck, soy chicken, vegetables and rice in a bowl whilst having my hair done!

I was so nervous/worried on the morning of my wedding I had a lump in my throat and found it really hard to eat so my family got me all sorts of fattening things to make sure I ate at least half of them, I was sitting at the table for a good hour lol
You don't have to eat anything grand but something salty for blood pressure would be a help (it was for me)

I'm planning on having a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel as that's my favourite breakfast. My sister is staying at mine the night before so i will make her something too, it will give me something to do to take my mind off my nerves (& in between trips to the loo!!!!)

Take a lot to put me off my food (lol) and not getting wed till 3pm so I'll have a nice leisurely breakfast in my hotel room. Hair/makeup people ar earriving at lunchtime so might be the only chance I get. meal is not till 5pm (H2B staying at same hotel so I'm not risking leaving the room) wink.gif
