I just thought it would be good to have a thread, even if it is just for reference, about everyones themes.

It will allow people to share ideas about similar themes and ask questions.

Don't know mine yet as I am not getting married for a long long time hehehe... this means I am going to pinch ideas of all of you hehehe

Our theme will be Roman... not the tacky togas tho (sorry if anyone is doing togas :s)

Not got many ideas of how to incorporate this though as it is quite difficult. So far I have got purple and red colours and the ideas of using roman numerals and having pictures of us in Rome around the venue

Anyone has any suggestions on what else I would greatly appreciate it smile.gif

Not really got a theme as such but we're having deep reds and some green, creams etc. The venue for the reception is very olde worlde type and has quite a medival feel to it, but chose the colours based on the Ena Harkness rose that my grandad used to grow in his garden before he passed away. Means that my grandparents will be at my wedding in spirit if not in person smile.gif

My theme was celtic/lord of the rings. But it seems to be heading more to celtic than anything else with alot of greenery.

Hi! I've never really posted here, but i read the mag. I'm still floating around on wedding sites as i'm about to make hubby's cousins wedding invitations, i actually got married on January 5th. My theme was Celtic, Lord of the rings and Christmas. Sounds really odd i know, but it looked gorgeous! A bit Quirky but still really nice. I'd show pics but access to photobucket is restricted at work (even though work finished at 1 and i'm sat here waiting for hubby), so i can't get the link.

Ah well.

I had wanted a red and ivory wedding, but hubby's chosen kilt was green, so we had red, ivory and green. It was a good day.

EDIT: Managed to grab the first page address, though it won't let me go any further. If you go to the link below there's sub folders on the left. Official Wedding pics is our professional (formal) photographer. Offiacial wedding pics 2 is our amatuer (more reportage) photographer.

Our theme was originally Pale Blue & Silver, now it's mainly Pale Blue. There is also a hint of Claret (West Ham) and seeing as my H2B is a Fire Fighter, his father & Grand Father were Fire Fighters - this is now part of our theme.

We have TWO wedding cakes - one is 3 square tiers with Claret & Pale Blue ribbon round them, two is 3 circle tiers with an extra fire engine cake attached with a fire fighter and bride also on top.

We also have a vintage fire engine that Mark's grand father actually drove when he was in the service.

We also have bubbles instead of confetti - this is West Ham theme.

The men (excep Mark) are wearing Claret neck wear with Pale Blue waist coats - West Ham theme again.

And i think that's it. Not many people know were having two cakes and what our transport is which will be a surprise.

we had a fairytale elegant summer wedding. We incorporated the fairytale element by having a gorgeous castle as our venue, a horse and carriage, a harpist, fairywands etc. And then for the elegant summer aspect, we had lots of ivory roses and lillies everywhere, sparkly silver butterflies on all of our stationary (inc place names, table plan etc) and then an outdoor drinks reception with canapes, jazz band etc

Our venue is an 18th century house and we're going with a Mozart / classical theme. The whole history of Mozart and mid Europe is very close to my heart. The dress is dramatic and we're having a string quartet, lots of muted antique colours, but any other ideas very welcome!!!!

Happy planning!

Were not really have a theame as such but we are having all pale blue and ivory. It was a comprimise as htb wanted a blue and white wedding and to ger married at tottenhams white heart lane so we talked and decided we'd similar couolors as a wedding colour. My dress is pale blue and the brides baid will be in ivory with a pale blue band round it. There 5 and 6 years old biggrin.gif The 3 page boys will wear the same as htb, my dad, his dad the best man and ushers, with is a dark navy suit, ivory shirt and waste coat and pale blue cravet to match my dress. I have the florist coming round tonight but will probably have ivory flowers with pale blue ribbon and maybe pale blue diamontes in the flowers. Our cake is a 3 tear ivory heart with pale blue and ivory flowres and hearts and a aple blue wire top decoration. The limo even has blue lights inside lol The chocolate fountain is just milk chocolate so nothing blue there lol laugh.gif

My colour scheme is Silver and white so its all crisp and fresh and thanks to the girls on the forum they gave me a theme of 'elegant'! (theory is that the silver and white will look elegant and I like quite simple things!)

We go married almost 6 yrs ago and had our wedding at Scone Palace which was really opulent so didn't have a theme as such, just pale gold dresses for the bridesmaids as ther is loads of rich golds in the building and didn't want to clash with the decor!!!!
We are renewing our vows shortly, not sure of the theme or place yet!
Really looking forward to it, will be more relaxed as our wedding was very formal.

I've decided to not have a theme at all. We're just having the things that we love. I think it would feel more like a general party rather than a wedding if everything matched.

our 'theme' has sort of evolved into english country garden with a twist smile.gif
the colours are green, pink and lemon
generally just quite a relaxed feel, but still quite traditional
we have glitter on the flowers (a mix of in season blooms such as roses, anemones and veronica), a funky cake, coloured napkins and pink champagne.
the reception is in a converted barn, with lots of fairy lights, trees and ivy
we are having a 3 course sit down dinner, then a bbq in the evening!

Wellllllllllllll started out as a full on and amazing 50s theme with original 50s wedding dress, retro 50s style bowling alley as reception venue (amongst other fab 50s venue ideas), jukebox, pink cadillac, 50s style flowers etc you get the picture.

H2B is square so we now have a cookie cutter wedding with the odd sprinkling of my madness, so random elements that make no sense to anything else will appear just annoy H2B and keep me sane! If I had to be pinned down to define this marvellous and clearly elegant theme-ing style I would call it "normal with a hint of japanese, birdcage weirdness and vintage" tongue.gif

I'm going to be having red and cream as the colours.

I'm now thinking of having a theme of hearts as whole.

Would be great using them as centre pieces etc... Also thinking of having a wintery theme as my wedding day is on Bonfire night!
