Can any body help, Im looking for any ideas for a horse racing theme.
My fiance and i are members at our local race course and want to incorporate this some how into our special day. Does any body have any ideas how we can do this in a classy way other than table names.

Great theme!
How about naming your tables after grand national winners or top jockeys both past and present?
Favours along the same lines as a lottery ticket - a 50p/£1 bet on a horse race close to your wedding day/on the day.
Horse and carriage as your wedding transport?
I am going to go on a mission now and find some more ideas for you!

I worked in horseracing for over 20 years... So you prefer jump or flat racing? You can do a set of each colours for tables with famous horse and jockey and trainer like in a racecard...
or tables named after the jumps at aintree...
Good idea about the racing games but unless you hire someone to do a racenight there is not much around, you can buy one or 2 for the pc, but you have to build up the stables to race...
you could give each guest a placepot of the big meeting of the day, you can stake 50p or a pound and you pick a horse from each race in the first 6 races..its pot luck and some can win big if there selections get placed...
The race meetings on your wedding day are:
Brighton Haydock (Eve) Newcastle Newmarket Pontefract (Eve) Stratford-On-Avon (H Eve) and Newmarket would be the main meeting of the day, maybe do something to do with the days racing there
If I can help with anymore just pm me.....

We are members at York flat course. I have been to new market, ripon, doncaster and pontefract race courses. Thanks for the idea of the place pot will discuss with my other half. I was thinking of some personal game in which may be the best man picks horse names out and who ever has that horse will win a little something what do you think? (too cheesy)

Horse shoes can be tied into things too like your stationery, flowers, sewn onto the underskirt of your dress etc
How about decorating water troughs in you colour scheme and filling them with flowers for your table centres?

My gosh, how old is this thread?!!
We had our wedding day on Grand National Day, 4th April 2009. We incorporated it by giving each of our guests a betting slip. We were lucky though as there were 40 horses racing, and we had 40 adult guests,
We also watched it live in between our main course and dessert, it was great fun and the atmosphere was fantastic, especially as the winner won more than £70.......
