Hi,

I have always known i wanted a Sapphire engagement ring (my birthstone) and my fiance brought me the most perfect ring and as i love it so much i have decided my colour theme shall match my ring. The future mother in law is really crafty so she is making all stationary and is making invites which are like scrolls in fairtytale writing tied with sapphire blue ribbon. The white linen napkins are going to be tied with sapphire blue ribbon with tags attached to them with the guests names on as rather unusual place settings. I want organza ribbons in sapphire blue round the chairs and also sapphire blue bridesmaids dresses.

This is my main theme although we are incorporating a few other things into our day we both work with animals and have a wide variety of exotic pets, so we are naming our tables after our pets, our top table will be called Flower after our pet Skunk. Our attendants table Cookie after my tortoise and so on.

Only thing im stuck on is the flowers, i think i want white roses with maybe some small blue flowers (to match) incorporated some how but dont know any nice blue flowers that would fit?!? Any ideas? x

I have a sapphire blue dress! Pic in planning if you want a nosey!

I'm not a fan of white and blue flowers together but thats very much personal choice! What about white flowers but then have the part of the bouquet you hold wrapped in sapphire blue ribbon?

You have some great ideas there!

I like muscari which is a pretty blue spring flower and I think always looks nice with white flowers. Alternatively, I make crystal bouquet stems and you may like to consider dotting some throughout your white roses instead of adding blue flowers. Swarovski produce a crystal called Sapphire (they do a Light Sapphire too) and this could give you the hint of blue you're looking for. x

Those are both excellant ideas i havent sorted a florist yet but will chat to them on it. I am planning on the bridesmaids just having small white rose bouquets and i just wanted a hint of blue in mine to tie in with the theme but ribbon or crystal stems may work thanx for your advice x

i love your theme, I love sapphires, would have liked one for e ring but it didn't happen in the end i have a lovely diamond one - however am thinking of having sapphire in my w ring or bugging H2B for sapphire etetnity ring...

there are some nice blue flowers out there - quite often they are little so would be quite nice, when you see the florist they will have a book with all the flowers and they will be able to tell you what are in season
