Just to remind everyone with a tricky wedding theme that Wedding Ideas loves to help you with ideas in our monthly feature 'Find My Theme'.

We've covered lots of amazing themes over the past few months including Swans, Opera, Fairies, Citrus, Scottish, Sunflowers, Old English, Stars, Cricket, Enchanted forest, Feathers, Shoes, Cocktail, Morrocan, Vienna, Dragonflies, Dance! Coming up in future issues we have Jewels, African and Venetian.

If you are having trouble with yours then let us know, we may be able to help with great ideas. Email me at philipparichards@giraffe-media.co.uk with some brief details about your day (wedding date and location), what your theme is and why, and any specific colour schemes, etc, plus a picture of you and your H2B.

Hi phillippa,
my h2b and I are getting married march 1st next year, which is st Davids day (we are both welsh and very patriotic!), the whole day will be held at a hotel in newport, south wales. Our theme is daffodils, with a touch of baby blue here and there...I have found a lovely cake, made the invites etc myself and pretty much sorted everything out.....apart from the favours! I really want something unusual that incorporates the daffodil theme, I have searched the world wide web high and low, but nothing takes my fancy! if you have any ideas, i would love to hear about them.....20 WEEKS TO GO AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks, amy x

I think there Marie Curie charity has daffodils as their emblem, have a look on their website, you could get trolley keyrings or brooches or something like that? x

Hello

I am hoping to have a halloween wedding in 2009, my fiance is MAD on halloween, I have been married twice and he has been married once before, and we have 6 children between us. I would like to have a big day but not trashy and I am happy to go along with the Halloween theme but don't want people sat there is Pumpkin outfits (ie jokey outfits) I have thought about my dress being in red and making all guests dressing in black.

Have you had previous Halloween weddings? If so have you had any tips?

My nephew is getting married in May 08 and they have decided on a Rubber Ducky theme wedding. I know it's unusual but you would have to meet this couple to know that it's just a perfect theme for them.

They already have their cake and favours chosen but any other ideas that you might have, to pass along to them would be great!

Ha! I noticed your avatar right off and that is what made me think to ask for advice. They bought a gazillion rubber duckies just like your avatar to give as favours. Me? I think it would be hilarious to see this giant inflatable ducky at their wedding LOL

what about selecting an unusual exotic variety of daffodil seeds? These are affordable and easy to keep and most people love them for their gardens in spring.

Hi,
Myself and my H2B are getting married in sept 09, and our theme is tartan butterflies, the union of us both together, i am finding it difficult to find tartan ideas, as our wedding is going to be in an country house and the theme needs to mix with the beautiful decor that the hotel already has. if you have any ideas i would love to hear them

Thanks

Hi

My partner and I are getting married 12.9.09, and are trying to incorporate our hobby - motorbikes into our theme without it turning into something over the top, but do not know where to start.
We have had some good suggestions on here from making a biker patch emblem of our initials for the invitations and to make the invitations like a fold out itinery.
We've come up with the idea of putting the race circuit of the Isle of Man (a place we love) as the background of the table settings board, with larger pictures of the well known corners on the circuit which you would open like an advent calendar to reveal the names of the people sitting at that table underneath.
I'm struggling for colours - I would like more neutral creams and greens but have seen some goregeous deep purple bridesmaids dresses...and a lovely thistle that is a shade of blue that could be incorporated into a bouquet of cream roses.
My dress is ivory with silver beading on the corset.
Please help this is driving me nuts!!!!

Hi!
I'm just starting to plan our wedding and I'd love to have black and white with lilac as our theme, but my mum hates the idea of black and white as she thinks it bad luck, but I think it looks elegant and stunningly simple. How can I incorportate the colour scheme without it becomming too monocrome, if you see what I mean? I'm having a black and white dress and my flowergirls will match, but I don't want black and white overkill!
Thanks!
Gemma

I was going to go for teal too, as it's a lovely colour, but getting decorations, flowers, etc, to match was so tricky that I switched to navy instead - very classy, easy to work with, flattering to most complexions so good for bridesmaids, and georgous with silver.

good luck!

My theme is mountain as we are both hikers. Our hotel is by the hill where we got engaged. We will have mountain themed table names (which friends of ours have done before, although we will include some Irish ones). My friend is making cake toppers of "us" in wedding/hiking gear. We are decorating our own 3 tier cake and I'm a bit low on ideas. So far we've got sheep and tents. Any other suggestions?

We're getting married on 04 May 2010, and having the intimate afternoon (mad hatter!) tea party/buffet reception at home;
we're going for an alice in wonderland inspired reception, but there are certain elements we can't figure out how to include; tweedle dee/dum & the cheshire cat for instance!

We'd need help on favours, wall decorations, Brides shoes & general tableware.
Our colours are Grey, Red & Purple!

I'm getting married in September 2010 and also having an alice in wonderland inspired reception. I don't want it to be a 'hit you in the face' kind of theme. My main colour will be purple. One of my problems is the room at the venue where the reception will be is dark blue and I'm wondering if it will look too dark? I am into the dark, Tim Burton-esque look but h2b isn't!

Any help greatly appreciated.

My H2B and I will be having our reception in an old (not quaint!) barn in Cornwall and I love the idea of making it really shabby chic with willow hearts and bunting and lots of candles etc and I'm desperate to have hydrangeas with cream roses as our flowers, but I don't really want cornflower blue to be our only colour. I'm not convinced H2B would be bowled over with dusty pink as the complementary colour (he's an artist and has ideas about these things!!) - so any ideas of how I could incorporate this all would be really appreciated!

Hydrangeas don't only come in pink and blue, you can get pale cream with green, white. Example: http://www.hydrangea...nhydrangeas.htm

Alice in Wonderland themes - just type in "alice in wonderland weddings" in google images and loads of mood boards are shown (collection of pictures on a theme). You might get some really good ideas off there.

Hi,

I have emailed you just. Our theme is MOD/Northern Soul. Its the music that means most to us. We have sorted our invites out, old 7" vinyl singles (60's and 70's songs) with a label and sleeve made with the wedding details on. Groom and groomsmen have slim fitting suits, bridesmaids have tea dress style dresses.

Our problem is the little details, like cupcake wrappers, I want union jack ones but can't find them anywhere. Also would love a cake topper with bride and groom on vespa however can only find the "cartoon style" custom made ones. Our wedding is 4th September 2010 so its really getting close now and I'm beginning to think we may have to change things.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks in advance x
