- Table names labelled in Spanish as well as English.
- Tapas: tortilla, olives, ham, chorizo, croquetas...... I don't know anyone, apart from h2b, who likes to eat tapas though
- Wine! Cava!
- Bright colour(s)
We sometimes go to a Spanish bar in the town next to ours and on the tables they have polka dot flamenco shoes filled with chocolates or mints. I think it looks pretty cool.

There are loads of tapas that you could serve if you decided to go the buffet route.
They also have their "Ferias" which i guess is similar to a huge fair, where they sell toffee apples, candy floss and have lots of rides, usually the popular drink here is the "vino de jerez" which is very similar to port / sherry, so you could serve that as your welcome drink.

Not sure whether I'd have one each for the bride and groom or make it for the kids though. Looks like to much fun to hand over to the kids Lol

The only thing that i can think of that would be different is they throw rice instead of confetti and also they have a tradition done during the ceremony called "las arras" which is 13 gold / silver coins that the groom places in the brides hands. This symbolises 2 things: the property and all belongings will be shared through out the mariage and the gift that was given to the bride in apreciation of her virginity.
They look like this:

Hth if i think of anything else i'll let you know

Spanish people wear their weddings rings on their right hand. I worked with a couple last year and the husband was Spanish, wife was English. They have two wedding rings - one on the left hand and one on the right. I liked that they did that. They wear their wedding ring on that hand because there was a belief in Classic Greek times that there is an artery from that finger that leads directly to the heart.
Got it from this site (it's in Spanish though) and they have some more Spanish traditions and superstitions.
I liked these ones:
Si la novia chora el día de la boda, es buena señal, porque esas serán las últimas lágrimas que derramará en todo su matrimonio. - If the bride cries on the Wedding day, it's a good sign because these will be the last tears shed throughout the marriage
- Saturday is the least happy day to be married.
- The groom has to arrive at Church before the bride and must enter with his right foot.
- The single ladies bring a piece of wedding cake home and put it under their pillow to dream about the man they'll marry
- The first to sleep on the wedding night will be the first to die
I'm sure if you do a Google search, you'll find loads of links. Or ask a Spanish person?

I found a tradition where the female guests are given pins called alfileres which the single ladies wear upside down, if it falls out during the reception that lasy will soon marry. Can't for the life of me find any pictures though which is disappointing. Would love to see if the pins are traditional or just a pin choosen by the bridal party. Would be interesting to find out.

Translated it would say: The tradition is of the bride giving the female guests a pin on the day of the wedding, the traditions seems to come from familys wearing the same wedding dress. When it came to the wedding instead of fixing the dress they would just pin it up. After the ceremony the bride hands the pins to her guests for good luck.
It would seem that any pins can be used from what i understand from this site.
Found this on another site: Dime qué alfiler tienes y te diré qué novio consigues…
Basically says that depending on the pin you can select what type of man you look for, white headed pin for a blonde, black headed for brunnette, long for someone tall, and short for someone short, it does also say on this site about the pin being worn by the single ladies only for luck in finding their prince at the wedding and if it should fall as you said they would find him hehe

I had a tiny hint in mine..all my table names were in spanish (places of interest to sightsee in madrid e.g "palacio imperial" "gran via" etc
(hubs proposed to me in madrid so thats why we chose that)
and i had a flamenco guitarist to play during the wedding breakfast..which was really romantic .was from www.theromanticguitaragency.co.uk i thouroughly recommend them!
Orange blossom for flowers.....
wear a mantilla spanish lace edge veil..chose a caroline castigliano dress (very lacy and latin) carry an ivory fan wear ivory dolly shoes (like flamenco style) wear your hair in a high bun...
throw rice instead of confetti!

Sounds good, we had similar ideas re the table names except we're going for Barcelona as its personal to us. H2B would love a Golf theme which could be fun too but Spain is more personal to us both. Keeping Golf as a backup plan though
Thanks for the ideas

Perhaps you could you have a nod to Gaudi or Miro for the decorations/stationery?
