Hi there, I wonder if any of you have had a wedding theme based around cars/driving. My H2B and myself are both car mad, and although I had my heart set on a traditional wedding, found the venue, etc etc, I am now seriously considering the possibility of changing everything completely! I live in Bedfordshire and wouldn't want to go too far due to a disabled dad, but I think Santa Pod has a wedding licence.

I'd be grateful if any other car nuts out there could offer me any advice about weddings they've had or been to.

Thanks!

we are having a fairly traditional wedding but have added a couple of car related touches such as- naming the tables after uk race tracks and walking into the reception to the bbc f1 theme tune! smile.gif x

Thanks for that, the F1 theme tune is a fantastic idea!

I'm sure I saw a reference to Santa Pod a little while ago, I'll have a trawl through and see if I can find it, but maybe if its soon I'll wait until afterwards!

I would really like the General Lee as our wedding car!

Hiya

We had a complete car themed wedding much to mothers horror!!

We got married at Rockingham Motor Speedway and had 4 of our cars and 2 friends cars in pretty much all the photos!! Rockingham were fab, the ushers moved the cars about and we even had pics on the poduim and a drive round the track.

Our tables were named after rallies we had competed and or marshalled at.

Our backup was Silverstone, can still be traditional but car themed.

Im not sure santa pod have a licence but these are hotels near by for your ceremony and the reception can be at the Pod. This is what we had to do as the Speedway didnt have a licence.

Hope all goes well for u

I think its fairly far from you but what about Beaulieu car museum.

Then you can have the best of both worlds, traditional wedding with a huge car influence!

here's a website... they appear to hire out famous cars!

Alternatively you could try and contact someone who has made their own 'General Lee' and see if they would hire it to you

Thank you girls, this is very helpful! I'm familiar with Rockingham, that sounds great. Also my H2B knows a chap who works at Beaulieu - we went there a couple of months ago - its very impressive!

Thanks again for your input, I'm still not a whole lot nearer organising, but the ideas are definitely forming..

You could name your tables after famous cars: the general lee, kit, herbie.....you get the idea......or as already said after race circuits in the UK, the table names could be inside an outline of the track, if that makes sense.
